About Kepler Aviation Kepler Aviation is a composite aerospace manufacturer based in Duzce, Turkiye. We are starting a new development programme for high thrust-to-weight, rapid-response multirotor platforms for defence applications, and we are looking for one engineer to own that platform from concept to first flight. About the Role This is a hands-on development role, not a design office role. You will lay out the platform, size the propulsion, build it, integrate the flight controller, tune it, fly it, break it, and improve it. You will be the person who makes the aircraft fly. You will not be doing this alone. Our composite manufacturing team builds your structures in house, our design team supports you on aerodynamics and structural analysis, and our machine park is on site. But the platform is yours. What You Will Do • Develop high thrust-to-weight multirotor airframes from concept layout through flight-worthy prototype • Size and validate the electric propulsion chain: motor, propeller, ESC and battery matching, based on your own thrust stand measurements rather than catalogue figures • Characterise short-duration high-power operation, current draw and thermal behaviour under aggressive duty cycles • Integrate and configure flight control on PX4 or ArduPilot, including parameter tuning of high-agility airframes and custom modes where the stock firmware is not enough • Build prototypes with your own hands: wiring, assembly, bench testing and debugging • Plan and run flight tests, write test cards, collect and analyse flight logs, and turn the results into design changes • Work with the composite team on structure, layup and integration • Integrate payload, datalink, antennas and onboard compute • Keep test operations safe and disciplined Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field • A demonstrable record of building and flying high thrust-to-weight multirotors. We care more about what you have flown than where you studied • Practical electric propulsion sizing backed by measurement, including use of a thrust and torque test stand • Deep working knowledge of PX4 or ArduPilot, including tuning aggressive airframes and reading logs to diagnose problems • Real build skills: soldering, wiring, harnessing, assembly, bench debugging • Flight test experience, including honest post-incident log analysis • 3D CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA or equivalent) • Technical English, reading and writing • Based in Duzce or willing to relocate Preferred • FPV racing, drone competition or Teknofest background • Control theory: state estimation, guidance laws, proportional navigation • Embedded C or C++ and Python for test automation and log analysis • Experience with high discharge rate lithium packs, battery management and thermal management • Experience with composite structures • Radio links, telemetry and antenna placement • Onboard compute (NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi) and vision pipelines What We Offer • A greenfield programme where you own the platform end to end • In-house composite manufacturing, machining and a growing machine park • Dedicated propulsion test stand and a flight test area • R&D operations based in a technology development zone • Direct access to decision makers, short decision cycles How to Apply
