We are hiring the person who can build the first product, establish the technical foundation beneath it, and decide which parts of that foundation deserve to survive. aeons is a movement concerned with the long transition from planetary capability to civilizational maturity. Humanity's technologies can now shape systems across markets, societies, ecosystems, and generations. Many of the structures directing them were built for a smaller world. AEONS Labs is the operating company building products and ventures around that mismatch. We are forming a small, permanent founding pod. It will begin with one primary venture at a time, moving from thesis to evidence, product, pilot, and a clear decision about whether the work deserves to continue. The public horizon is long. The operating standard is evidence this week. As Founding Technical Lead, you will be the senior technical owner and a deeply hands-on product engineer. You will work directly with the Founder, Venture Lead, Product Designer and Researcher, Domain and Trust Lead, and real pilot users. During the zero stage, this role is expected to remain primarily hands-on. Build the first complete end-to-end product journey. Own application, data, infrastructure, deployment, and observability foundations. Design authentication, permissions, and data-access controls. Integrate security, privacy, and data integrity into the product from the beginning. Establish development, testing, release, and documentation practices. Make disciplined build-versus-buy decisions. Define which forms of technical debt are acceptable and which are not. Instrument the product so behavior and failure can be understood. Participate directly in product discovery and pilot conversations. Translate domain, product, and design requirements into maintainable systems. Identify technical conditions under which a release should not proceed. Recruit and develop future engineers only when validated work requires them. You will have clear authority to stop a release where material security, privacy, reliability, or data-integrity risks remain unresolved. What success looks like after six months A real product operating in a controlled pilot environment. An understandable and proportionate architecture. Dependable development, staging, deployment, rollback, and release processes. Documented data flows, permissions, and material technical assumptions. Meaningful product behavior and failures being observed. A practical security and privacy baseline. A product team capable of learning quickly without building recklessly. A clear decision about whether and why a second engineer is required. You may thrive in this role if You have personally architected, built, and deployed production software. You have broad full-stack capability and at least one area of genuine technical depth. You can move from an incomplete idea to a functioning product without waiting for perfect specifications. You make architectural decisions in proportion to the problem rather than the fashion of the moment. You have made consequential security, privacy, identity, permissions, or data decisions. You work well with designers, product operators, researchers, and subject-matter experts. You are willing to speak directly with users and institutional partners. You can explain difficult technical choices in plain language. You know how to reduce scope without compromising system integrity. You remain interested in production behavior after the initial build has shipped. A prescribed degree is not required. We care more about demonstrated judgment, evidence, ownership, and the quality of your work than conventional pedigree. This role may not suit you if You primarily want to manage other engineers. You require complete specifications before beginning. You want to build a platform before proving a product. You default to complex infrastructure without a demonstrated need. You regard privacy and security as later-stage compliance work. You prefer remaining separate from product, design, and customer questions. You expect to outsource the core technical knowledge of the venture. Working at the founding stage The title is deliberate. We are not using title inflation as a substitute for authority. The role can develop into broader technology leadership as the company, team, and technical scope justify it. At the beginning, the work is direct: architecture, code, deployment, judgment, documentation, and close contact with users. Practical terms Primary location: Istanbul, Türkiye. Working model: Hybrid, with regular collaboration at Kanyon, Levent. Employment: Full-time.
