Company Description AIS Field is a technology company developing robotic inspection systems and advanced software solutions for the energy and industrial sectors. Our robotic platforms are designed to perform non-destructive testing and visual inspection in challenging industrial environments, helping asset owners assess equipment integrity more safely and efficiently. Our work combines robotics, embedded systems, ultrasonic testing, signal processing, artificial intelligence, data visualization, and inspection reporting. We develop the hardware and software of our systems in-house and deploy them in real industrial facilities across international markets. Role Description We are looking for a Software Engineer to contribute to the development of the software that powers our robotic inspection systems. In this role, you will develop user interfaces that communicate with the robots’ embedded systems, build data acquisition and signal-processing solutions, and work on robot navigation and accurate positioning using data from encoders, IMUs, sonar, and other sensors. You will also contribute to UT analysis, AI-assisted signal evaluation, robot control, data visualization, and inspection reporting modules. You will work closely with our mechanical, electronics, embedded software, AI, and field operations teams to ensure that our robotic systems operate reliably and efficiently in real-world industrial environments. Responsibilities Develop desktop applications used to control and monitor our robotic inspection systems Establish communication between the user interface, embedded software, electronic control units and sensors Integrate UT cards into the software and manage the acquisition, visualization, processing and storage of ultrasonic signals Develop algorithms for UT signal processing, measurement and defect analysis Contribute to AI-based methods for signal analysis and automated evaluation of inspection data Develop algorithms for robot driving, motion control, navigation and accuracte positioning using and processing data from various sensors Combine location data with UT and visual inspection results to create accurate inspection maps Develop software modules for data analysis, visualization and automated inspection reporting Develop and maintain Ethernet-based data communication between the robot and the control system Diagnose and resolve issues related to network performance, data loss, latency, synchronization and connection stability Test the software together with the robot and its hardware components in laboratory and field conditions Investigate software and system-level problems observed during field operations and develop practical solutions Work closely with mechanical, electronics, embedded software, AI and field engineering teams throughout the development process Contribute to the software architecture, technical documentation, testing and version-control processes Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering or a related field Experience with robotics, ROS, C++ and/or C# is preferred Strong foundation in programming, algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented software development Ability to understand a physical system and translate engineering requirements into working software Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Familiarity with desktop application development Basic knowledge of computer networks Understanding of multithreading, asynchronous operations and synchronization Ability to test and debug software that communicates with hardware Experience using Git or another version-control system Ability to read and produce technical documentation in English Willingness to work closely with mechanical, electronics, embedded software, and field engineering teams Interest in robotics, signal processing and software used in real industrial systems
