Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2+ years of hands-on team leadership experience, Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot (or similar JVM-based frameworks), Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining microservices-based architectures, Hands-on experience with AI-powered software development processes, including Spec-Driven Development (SDD), AI-assisted coding, and modern AI-native development approaches, Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and backend architecture, Familiarity with SOAP and XML technologies, Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar messaging systems, Experience designing scalable, distributed, and high-performance systems, Experience in the payments/fintech domain is a strong plus, Experience with Unit Testing frameworks and software quality practices, Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional teams in Agile environments. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and support a team of backend engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous development, Drive the technical direction of the team and participate in architectural decisions, Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services, Oversee the development of robust backend systems and APIs, Build and manage integrations related to payment systems and financial services, Ensure the adoption of engineering best practices, including clean code, design principles, code reviews, and testing standards, Collaborate closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions, Monitor system performance, reliability, and scalability, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, Troubleshoot complex technical issues and guide the team in resolving production incidents, Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and engineering standards, Support recruitment activities by participating in technical interviews and helping grow the engineering team, Foster a collaborative, high-performing engineering culture while ensuring timely delivery of business objectives.
