Company: Magnero Agency Location: İstanbul, Türkiye Work Type: Full-time, On-site English: Intermediate level About the Role At Magnero Agency, we build websites, web applications, plugins, and integrations for clients across a range of industries, as well as for our own products. We are looking for a Full-Stack Developer with strong software engineering fundamentals, a commitment to code quality, and the ability to adapt to projects built with different technologies and architectures. Our work is primarily focused on PHP and WordPress, but our projects also include TypeScript-based web applications, APIs, Python tools, and third-party platform integrations. You don't need to be an expert in every technology we use. What matters to us is your ability to understand an unfamiliar codebase, ask the right questions, learn what you need, and approach problems in a structured way. We also expect you to make effective use of AI-assisted and agentic coding tools as part of your daily development workflow. At the same time, you should be able to understand, review, test, and take ownership of the code these tools generate. What You'll Do Develop and maintain web applications, WordPress websites, and plugins. Work across the backend, frontend, APIs, and third-party integrations depending on project requirements. Understand existing codebases and implement secure, maintainable, and sustainable changes. Work effectively with Git, including meaningful commits, branching, merging, and pull request workflows. Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and act on feedback from other team members. Test the features you develop and proactively communicate bugs, blockers, and technical risks. Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools to improve development efficiency while carefully reviewing their output. Clearly communicate technical decisions, progress, and completed work within the team. What We're Looking For Professional experience in software development and a solid understanding of how web applications work. Experience building applications with at least one backend technology, preferably PHP. Able to code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript. Good understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, databases, and client-server communication. The ability to use Git in day-to-day development, including commits, branches, merges, and resolving conflicts. The ability and willingness to understand existing projects and learn unfamiliar tools and technologies. The ability to critically evaluate, validate and take ownership of AI-generated code rather than relying on it blindly. Strong communication skills and the ability to proactively communicate progress, obstacles, and technical concerns. Intermediate English proficiency sufficient to understand technical documentation and development resources. Nice to Have Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus, but none of these are mandatory: WordPress, WooCommerce, or WordPress plugin development. PHP Composer and the broader PHP ecosystem, including Bedrock-style setups. React, Next.js, Nuxt, Vue, or Node.js. Building APIs or automation tools with Python. SQL and relational databases. Code testing, code review, and CI/CD. Linux, Docker, or local development environments. Collaborative development through GitHub pull requests. Important Working Approach for This Role Rather than simply claiming that you know a technology, demonstrate how you learnt it and how you validate your understanding. Break down large and ambiguous tasks into small, reviewable changes. Keep your Git history and code changes clear and traceable, so that your teammates can easily follow and understand them. Use AI tools to increase your speed and efficiency, while never compromising on quality, security, or accuracy. Rather than hiding things you are unsure about, raise them early, communicate them openly, and work towards finding a solution. Why This Role?
