Build a new specialism in data and AI without leaving your architectural experience behind You already use BIM to create information models of buildings. Now you can help shape what that information means, how it connects and how it can be used by artificial intelligence. At Depixen, we are developing a shared information infrastructure for the architecture, engineering and construction industry. We connect projects, buildings, spaces, systems, materials and products with their properties, requirements, relationships and sources. We transform data from different sources into structured information that AI systems can process, connect and query. As part of this work, we develop ontologies for the built environment. We are looking for an architect with substantial hands-on BIM experience who wants to develop expertise in data analytics, ontologies and semantic data modelling. You will receive training in these areas and gradually take on greater responsibility as your knowledge develops. What will you do? Turn source data into usable information. You will examine, clean, classify, map and prepare data from BIM models, technical documents, product information and other sources. As your expertise develops, you will work with our software and AI teams and take greater responsibility for managing the end-to-end data pipeline. Model concepts and relationships within the built environment. You will help define how projects, spaces, systems, components and products are represented, including their properties, requirements and relationships. Help maintain data quality and traceability. You will identify missing, inconsistent and duplicate records, helping ensure that information can be evaluated together with its source, validity and context of use. Connect architectural knowledge with AI applications. You will translate real project requirements and industry concepts into data definitions, relationship models and validation rules that our technical teams can implement. Who are we looking for? We are looking for a qualified architect with strong, practical experience in BIM-based project workflows. You should be able to read a BIM model not only as geometry, but also through its objects, parameters, classifications and relationships. You should also be able to: Understand building systems and construction materials Review technical documents carefully Identify missing or inconsistent information Organise and classify information systematically Work with IFC and model-based data exchange Read and evaluate technical information in English Think analytically and work confidently with detail You do not need previous expertise in data analytics or ontologies You will receive training in these areas. What matters is a strong foundation in architecture and BIM, an analytical mindset, attention to detail and a genuine interest in developing a new area of expertise. Use your architectural knowledge at a different scale This role is not about leaving architecture behind. It is an opportunity to use your architectural knowledge to help design the structure, meaning and relationships of built-environment data. You will not simply enter information into an existing model. You will contribute to the development of its concepts, connections and quality rules. A significant part of the role will involve reviewing, cleaning, classifying, mapping, validating and documenting data.
